About the exhibition

The artists distill their work into a 20×20 cm square.
Concentrate, extract, sharpen. Discipline the oil-paint, flow with the aquarelle, contain the frame, decide, enlighten. Stare at. Aim, pick, quite the lust, amplify the choice, loosen-up, let go and improvise. Erase. Do not exaggerate, purify, cleanse, exacerbate, erupt, sting and pounce.

Distill. Detach, extract the essence, formulate, edit, weigh and shine. Reduce. Strike, wising up, isolate, dig into, know and adjust. Simplify. Condense, reverse and be precise. These are the constraints facing artists approaching the small square.
